Nellie's Laundry Soda is so concentrated that you only need one tablespoon per LARGE wash load. It comes to you in the form of "nuggets" that are pre-measured in a water soluble MonoSol™ film. You never touch the soap and never need to measure.
You’ll easily feel the concentrated power of Nellie’s Laundry Soda when you touch the water. And it cleans all the way through the fiber, rinses thoroughly and leaves no residue.
This soap is 100% pure, very low
sudsing, filler free, chemical free, dye free and perfume free. Nellie's is hypoallergenic - perfect for baby clothes. And it’s great for the very young and very old where allergies and skin sensitivities to chemicals are more pronounced.
This highly concentrated, 100% biodegradable soap that’s filler free
is also better for the environment. It will help keep our planet a little healthier – and every little bit helps.
Note: This type of laundry soap is also recommended for all front-loading machines.
THE DETAILS ...
The best way to understand this 100% biodegradable laundry soap is to first understand the alternatives that are most common to us: Tide, Cheer, Gain, etc.
In laymen’s terms, this is how the laundry detergents we purchase from the market are manufactured
...
Imagine, if you will, a large conveyer belt full of tiny specks of saw-dust rolling along and passing through a tunnel that sprays them with a coating of formulated chemicals that contain soap, “whiteners and brighteners”, perfume, and anything else that enables the manufacturer to market this product more effectively…such as the foaming agents which convince us that the laundry is indeed being well-cleaned. When the factory process is finished, into the box goes the detergent and off to the store shelves, where it awaits your purchase. This is a rather simplistic explanation, but it makes the point.
These "fillers" which produce unnecessary bulk (see photo), weight, and additional chemicals are the down side to this product and here’s one reason why:
Ever notice that the area of your carpet that shows wear the fastest is that part nearest the entry points of your home? The front door, the back door and the garage entry are the places where tiny particles of dirt, sand, and ‘stuff’ from outdoors get tracked into your home. These tiny bits of sand work their way to the bottom of the carpet where normal traffic creates friction that actually turn these tiny bits of sand into tiny little razor blades. They then proceed to cut away at the base of the carpet and eventually cause it to deteriorate quicker than, say, the center part of the room. Shampooing will get the rug clean, but the actual wear is created by what is tracked into the home.
The same concept holds true with your laundry, as not all fillers are rinsed out in the laundry
process. Some will remain and get down into the fibers of your clothing and contribute to the premature
"aging" of your garments.
36 loads of Nellie’s Laundry Soap Nuggets will come to you in a small, decorative,
air-tight pouch (that will take up considerably less storage space than your boxed detergent) for only
$25.95.
